Iron Guidance are proud to be developing and managing the Children’s University in Middlesbrough, Stockton on Tees and Billingham. Our partners include Teesside University, Middlesbrough council and Fabrick Housing Group.
The Children’s University™ is a national charity offering children aged 5 to 14 an exciting and innovative programme of
high quality learning opportunities outside school hours, at the weekend and during the holidays, with a focus on raising
aspirations and encouraging engagement with learning.
Children’s University™ celebrates achievement and encourages participation through accredited learning. Children
purchase their own passport through their school in which they collect hours of learning towards nationally recognised
awards, certificates and ‘cap and gown’ graduation ceremony in partnership with Teesside University. Children are
rewarded as they reach milestones in the number of hours engaged in learning activities. The first award starts at 30
hours of validated learning.
